千葉県蘇我で開催中の世界少年サッカー大会（正式名称はU-12ジュニアサッカーワールドチャレンジ2024）で、内戦下のミャンマーから出場した代表が大健闘しています。昨年は予選リーグ全敗でしたが、今大会では決勝トーナメント進出を決めました。（押手敬夫）

特定非営利活動法人「メコン・ウォッチ」は20日、ミャンマー軍を利するODA（政府開発援助）と公的資金供与事業の停止を求める署名を外務省に提出した。署名はメコン・ウォッチと国際環境NGO FoE Japan、アーユス仏教国際協力ネットワーク、日本国際ボランティアセンター（JVC）、武器取引反対ネットワーク（NAJAT）など5団体が共同で呼び掛け、11,534筆集まった。同様の動きはミャンマーとインドの民間団体からも起きている。

ハリス×トランプの 米大統領選挙での大きい争点の一つに「中絶の権利」がある。トランプ大統領時代、保守派に総入れ替えされた連邦最高裁は2022年に人工妊娠中絶は憲法で保障された女性の権利だとする1973年の「ロー対ウェイド」判決を覆した。それ以降、多くの州で中絶を認めない州法がつくられ、女性にとって大切な権利である「中絶の権利」の制限が拡がった。国際人権団体アムネスティの調査では、この最高裁判決以降、SNS上で中絶に関する医療情報や中絶や生殖の権利に言及する投稿が次々と削除されている。こうした行為はフェイスブックやインスタグラム、ティックトックといった主要ソーシャルメディア全般に及んでいる。以下、アムネスティの調査に基づく実態を紹介する。（大野和興）
